NFPA 2001 Clean Agent Practice Test

Ventilation does not have to be shut down when a clean agent suppression system activates. The system is designed to work with the building’s normal ventilation during and after discharge, allowing the agent to reach its design concentration and suppress the fire while occupants egress and the space is ventilated as needed. Automatically stopping ventilation could hinder effective distribution of the agent and complicate post-discharge air quality control. So, there’s no requirement to shut the ventilation off; the system and ventilation can coexist during and after activation.
